PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE, ENTREPRENEUR, PHILANTHROPIST
Devon Kennard is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and outside linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). Devon has a real estate portfolio of 36 properties and growing, including residential rental properties, apartment buildings, retirement living communities and hotels throughout the country. He actively mentors on developing generational wealth through passive income strategies for all, pro athlete or not. Before joining the Arizona Cardinals in 2020, Devon was with the Detroit Lions for two years and a Team Captain. He started his NFL career in 2014 with the New York Giants where he rose from a 5th round draft pick to a starting rookie and maintained his starting position the entire 4 years with the Giants. Before entering the NFL, Kennard played college football for the University of Southern California (USC) while he obtained both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Communication Management.
Devon utilizes his experiences, professional career, business, and platform to cultivate a community of those who together want to grow personally, financially and as a community. His reading club Reading with DK, started in 2017, is a part of this purpose. In addition to his reading club is the Reading with DK reading program that delivers the reading experience focused on growth to youth within the community.
Devon has been working with youth in the US throughout his NFL career. His philanthropic efforts are mostly focused on youth education and financial literacy. He has committed his time working with afterschool programs, and college support and readiness programs, including the Midnight Golf Program and ICAN Arizona, and his resources by creating and implementing the Devon Kennard Scholarship Fund. In 2019, Devon was nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award which recognizes his works within the community combined with leadership and performance on the field.
Devon’s father, Derek Kennard, also played professional football including for the Arizona Cardinals. Derek played for 11 years, and for the St Louis/Arizona Cardinals, the New Orleans Saints, and the Dallas Cowboys in which he became a Super Bowl Champion.
