Why I’m Focused on Depth Over Width in 2025—And Why You Should Too

Hey Everyone,

Have you ever felt like you’re trying to do too much at once—chasing every opportunity, networking with everyone, or investing in markets just because someone else is?

I’ve been there,

For years, I believed casting a wide net was the best way to grow. And to be fair, it served me well in the beginning. It allowed me to learn, test different strategies, and build a solid foundation. But as I head into 2025, I’m making a shift—a big one.

I’m committed to going DEEP instead of WIDE—and here’s what that looks like for me:

1. Select Relationships Over Networking Sprees

Instead of trying to know everyone, I’m focused on building fewer, stronger connections. I want relationships that are built on trust, aligned values, and long-term growth—not just surface-level interactions.

I’m prioritizing people who can push me, inspire me, and challenge me, and I’m doing the same for them. If you’re reading this, chances are you value growth too, so ask yourself—are you focused on building real partnerships or just expanding your contact list?

2. Focused Markets Over Random Deals

I used to invest in multiple markets because I wanted diversification. But now, I see the value in owning a market rather than just participating in many. For me, that means doubling down in Arizona—a market I know, where I have deep relationships, and where I can move fast.

Instead of spreading myself thin, I’m maximizing my knowledge, relationships, and speed in the areas I’m most confident in.

3. Intentional Investments Over Fast Wins

The temptation to chase the next hot deal can be hard to resist. But in 2025, my focus is on higher-quality deals where I can take my time to underwrite, evaluate risks, and position myself for consistent returns.

This doesn’t mean playing it safe—it means being strategic and doubling down on what works.

4. Bigger Results with Less Noise

Going DEEP allows you to simplify your efforts while maximizing your impact. You’re not juggling 10 ideas—you’re focused on 2-3 that truly move the needle.

If you’re feeling spread too thin, maybe it’s time to go deep instead of wide. Focus on what (and who) matters most—and don’t let distractions pull you away.

I’ll be sharing more about what this shift means for me—and how you can apply it too—in the coming weeks.

Until then, keep stacking those bricks,

DK 💰
