Devon went to Cleveland Ohio to speak at the Fuel Up To Play 60 Summit where he shared the stage with 2x gold Olympian and champion boxer Clareesa Shields. He spoke about how he thinks we can all make an impact in our communities.
Devon created the “Devon Kennard Scholarship Fund” for students who are apart of the Midnight Golf Program in Detroit. Midnight Golf Program is an after school program for high school students who are in their junior and senior years. MGP spends time mentoring the kids as well as helping the kids get ready for college by providing SAT tutoring, walking them through application processes as well as applying for scholarships.
Listen to DK explain the scholarship fund he created for students who are apart of the Midnight Golf Program in Detroit Michigan!
Although Devon doesn’t play for the NY Giants anymore they continued with the volunteer and donation work he started with New City Kids. New City Kids just received a $27,000 donation from the New York Giants thanks to the work Devon started!
In the 7th grade DK was nominated as student of the week. In the school newspaper he said his dream was to go to USC and play in the NFL. 15 years later he has his undergrad and masters degree from USC and is entering his 5th year in the NFL.
This is a great example of the importance of goal setting. DK wants every kid to understand that they can achieve every dream they have for their life if they put in the work!

See you cant have a grateful spirit and a bitter, sad or mad one at the same time. So when you choose to be grateful for what you do have, what you don’t have can no longer hold your mind hostage.
